Speed and the Buffalo Theory: New Crownpeak product features for December 2019
Have you ever heard of the Buffalo Theory? Cliff Clavin from the 80's sitcom "Cheers" explains, "Well ya see, Norm, it's like this… A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members."
By addressing areas of weakness, the entire platform or process (the herd) becomes stronger and faster. Cliff goes on to detail how the theory can be applied to excessive intake of alcohol, where the weaker brain cells are killed off first, making the brain as a whole faster and more efficient. That application may or may not be medically accurate, but the theory itself is sound. No buffalo were harmed in our December product release efforts, but we can tell you that we've sped up some of the not-quite-so-fast areas of our products to help you get your work done quicker - details below!
Digital Experience Management (DXM) and Web Content Management
We have made changes to our web content management solution to speed up your processes. First, we have added infinite scroll to the fileview panel. When searching through a large number of assets, clicking from page to page can be tedious and time-consuming. Many of our customers have told us they would prefer to be able to continuously scroll through the list and not deal with pages at all. If that sounds good to you, contact your customer success manager to get started.
Input forms selector: We have also added a new option for selecting templates from a list that bypasses some rendering and drastically reduces load times. For more information you can read about the input forms selector in the Community.
Finally, we are in the midst of phase 1 of our external publishing beta. Initial results have shown publishing speeds have increased by over 2x in some cases. If you would like to be a part of phase 2 of the beta, please contact William Thomas at will.thomas @ crownpeak.com.

Digital Governance (DG) and Privacy UX
Based on feedback from customers, we've improved and redesigned the consent dashboard within Universal Consent Platform (UCP). Our goal is to provide a clearer understanding of how your notices are performing over time. In addition to surfacing new data points, you'll also see more flexible date ranges and a faster experience when customizing your report.
UCP dashboard enhancements
The new dashboard enhancements will make it faster and easier to understand your progress and report on your notice performance over time. Once you've used the dashboard to determine where you need to focus efforts, you can use the consent optimization tool to test and improve your consent rates. For more information on each module in the dashboard, visit the product release overview page.
